!!!KCPR Radio History, 1968-69 If you were on the KCPR staff during Cal Poly's 1968-69 academic year, please add details (*JERRY, ADD LINK TO HOW HISTORY IS ORGANIZED, ETC.*): just a paragraph or two about your time at KCPR will help us fill in the gaps. !!Executive Staff * *Station Manager:* Joe Smith * *XYZ:* Jane Doe * *Janitor:* JerryPeek (note link to the person's page on the wiki) * *Faculty Advisor:* ... KCPR went on the air during Fall Quarter, 1968. (*NEED MUCH MORE DETAIL, PLEASE.*) First words on the air: * "Is THIS the damn switch!?" (according to Brad Brown, from the current station staff's [About KCPR|http://kcpr.org:16080/station/] page) * Frank Calabrese told me early-on that the first words spoken over KCPR were, "Christ! Are we on the air?" This was before the license had even arrived, bootlegging using the stolen KCSB Phasitron transmitter. (from Jan A. Tarsala, KCPR engineer 1975-77) ---- Links: HomePage [Audio]
